Updated Titan Batch Processing Manual Is Available
Check the Date
The Titan Batch Processing manual is updated frequently, so check the date on your printed edition - if it is a little stale, download or print the latest version. For users who run batch jobs on Titan (z/OS system) at the CIT-managed NIH Data Center, the manual describes the job control language (JCL) statements required for running batch jobs, information on using TSO, as well as utility programs available for Titan.
Parklawn Information Updated
Changes have been made to policies regarding output boxes and foreign tape processing for Parklawn and other off-campus users. All off-campus users must now make their own arrangements for delivery of printouts and tapes.
New TAPEEXP Procedure
TAPEEXP changes the expiration date for the first data set on a tape. When the expiration date is reached, the tape is scratched. This procedure is described in Section 6.1.5.
How to Get a Copy
The Titan Batch Processing manual is available from CIT. On the CIT Publications Web page, click on the link for "Batch Processing and JCL" under the category "z/OS Systems." The manual can be viewed online (as a PDF) or printed to the central printers (if you have a Titan userid). If you click the question mark next to the name of the manual, you will see the date, number of pages, and estimated printing charge. The charge is waived for the first printing of a new version.
