QWS3270 SecureAs of October, NIH users can download the latest client version of QWS3270 Secure (4.4.2) from the CIT website (http://cit.nih.gov). This software is a 3270-emulation application that allows PCs to connect to SSL-enabled MVS applications over a secure TCP/IP connection. QWS3270 Secure is designed to take full advantage of the "point and click" capabilities of Windows (NT, 2000, XP, and Vista). CIT has purchased licenses, so that NIH staff and contractors who are registered Titan users will be able to obtain this client free of charge for conducting official government business. In order to enhance data security for our users, CIT provides only QWS3270 Secure, which is a more secure version of Plus. Features User Features:

What you will need In order to download QWS3270 you must have a registered Titan user ID and RACF password. To install the software on your PC you must have administrative rights to your PC. Due to the requirements of the new FDCC mandate that has recently been implemented at NIH, an administrative account is necessary for making system changes, installing software, and running some applications. If you do not have an administrative account you can download the software but you will need to contact the NIH Help Desk for assistance in installing it. How to download the software
Because of the special secure port considerations for QWS3270, it is recommended that you print and read the installation and configuration instructions before you install the software. The instructions for QWS3270 Secure also contain separate configuration directions for IMS/ADB users to allow them to connect directly to IMS. If you have any questions regarding QWS3270 Secure, please contact the NIH Help Desk at http://ithelpdesk.nih.gov/support or call 301-496-4357, 301-496-8294 (TTY) or toll free at 866-319-4357. |
