CDE Browser  Opens in New Window: CDE Browser.  This should be the starting point for exploring the contents of the caDSR. The tool supports browsing, searching, and exporting the CDEs within or across contexts. The Shopping Cart feature lets you create a customized set of CDEs for exporting and the Form Builder feature lets the user organize them as "forms". The DTD Opens in New Window: DTD used by the CDE Browser to export/download data elements in XML is available here. While no account is required to use the CDE Browser, Form Builder requires curatorial authority; a caDSR account must be assigned for accessing Browser Form Builder feature. It may be the same account assigned for accessing the Curation Tool and the Administration Tool.

CDE Curation Tool Link to NCICB-affiliated Site: CDE Curation Tool.  Intended for Context administrators, this tool supports the creation and editing of Data Element Concepts, Value Domains, and Data Elements. An account is required to use this tool, and the user must have curatorial authority for his/her Context. This tool's features facilitate the use of the NCICB Enterprise Vocabulary System (EVS) to create administered component names and definitions, helping to ensure ISO/IEC 11179 compliance and also use of caDSR naming conventions.

caDSR Administration Tool Link to NCICB-affiliated Site: caDSR Administration Tool. This is the main administrative interface to all of the caDSR features and components. It is intended for use by both Context and central caDSR administrators. This tool also provides access to EVS for creating content. There are a number of administrative and curatorial tasks that are not supported in the CDE Curation Tool, such as creation of Conceptual Domains, Classification Schemes and Protocols used across all caDSR tools. These must be performed through the caDSR Administration Tool. An account is required to use this tool with appropriate privileges for each function.

UML Model Browser  Opens in New Window: UML Model Browser.  This tool allows users to browse administered items that are part of registered UML Models. The tool supports browsing, searching, and exporting the classes, attributes and relationships between classes of a UML domain model. The CDEs within the framework of a UML Model are at the UML attribute level. You do not need an account to use the UML Model Browser.

Semantic Integration Workbench  Opens in New Window: SIW .  The Semantic Integration Workbench (SIW), a Java Web Start application, is part of the caCORE SDK and a prerequisite to the UML Loader. It facilitates the iterative collaborative workflow process required for annotating a UML domain model for registration of caBIG Silver level and above compatible systems. Prior to running the UML Loader the domain model must be tagged with matching semantic concepts from the NCI Thesaurus. The SIW was created to aid the developer by providing user interfaces to perform this task along with the opportunity to identify and fix any UML Loader or code generation incompatibility issues before executing these components of the caCORE SDK.

caDSR Sentinel Tool Opens in New Window: Sentinel Tool.  The Sentinel Tool allows users to create and manage Alert Definitions for the caDSR. Alert Definitions are a set of rules that are periodically evaluated against the caDSR. If the conditions in those rules are met, notification is sent to the user (via email) in the form of a hyperlink to an activity report that specifies the changes that have taken place. The caDSR Sentinel Tool provides users with the ability to monitor all changes to Administered Items (including Data Elements, Data Element Concepts and Value Domains) and filter the alerts by context, specific forms or templates, classification scheme / classification scheme item, creator and modifier. Users can also monitor changes in workflow status, registration status and version. Reports may be set to run automatically daily, weekly or monthly; on demand; sent only to the Alert owner or to a distribution list. Software Processes can be included in the distribution by specification of a process URL.
