Biosketch:
Dr. Robert B. Wellner has been a Scientific Review Administrator at the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive Diseases and Kidney since February, 2005. His academic background includes a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Natural Products Chemistry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center. He followed this with postdoctoral studies at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Dr. Wellner subsequently served as a Senior Staff Fellow at the NIDCR, a Principle Investigator at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, and a Biologist with the NIDCR. Dr. Wellner is an author of approximately 40 peer reviewed research articles and 5 book chapters/review articles, and has served as a reviewer of grant applications for the NIDCR, the NINDS, the United States Army, and the Netherlands.
