Biography

Dr. Hyun-Shik Lee was awarded a Ph.D. from the College of Medicine at Hallym University, Korea in 2002. He investigated the mechanism of transcriptional regulation of Xvent homeobox genes regulated by BMP signaling. In 2003, he joined Dr. Ira Daar's laboratory. His present work focuses on signal transduction pathways that regulate cell-cell adhesion and cell movement.

Research

A major focus of my research is to understand the mechanisms of cell-cell adhesion and movement that are critical for normal morphogenetic processes during development as well as oncogenesis and metastasis. Specifically, my research focuses on Eph/ephrin signaling-controlled cell-cell adhesion and movement.
