Biography

Lebanese-born, I did my undergraduate work in Biology at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon before moving to Texas A&M university where I received my PhD in Microbiology. I was first a post-doc and research fellow with Susan Gottesman at NIH before becoming the staff scientist in her lab.

Research

The lab is focused on the role that small trans-acting RNAs do in helping the bacterium E. coli respond to stresses or changes in its environment. In particular, we have been interested in the physilogical conditions under which the small RNAs become expressed and what mRNAs they target.
