Biography

Dr. Fang Yuan received his Ph.D degree in microbiology from Ohio University in 1996. Prior to his study in the United States, he obtained his medical degree (Nanjing Medical College) and MS degree (National Institute of Virology) in his native China. During his Ph.D study at Ohio University, he also worked as a visiting scholar at Karolinska Institute, Sweden, from 1991 to 1993. He pursued his postdoctoral studies at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and NCI-Bethesda in late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Dr. Yuan joined AVP in summer 2001 and has since been a member of the Retrovirus Pathogenesis Laboratory.
