POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
EYES: This substance is slightly irritating to the eyes. Eye contact may include discomfort, tearing, redness, swelling, and blurred vision.
SKIN: This substance is not expected to cause prolonged or significant skin irritation. This substance is slightly toxic to internal organs if absorbed through the skin. The degree of injury will depend on the amount absorbed.
INGESTION: If swallowed, this substance is considered practically non-toxic to internal organs.
INHALATION: This substance is slightly toxic to internal organs if inhaled. The degree of injury will depend on the airborne concentration and duration of exposure.
Chronic Health Effects: From MSDS
TERATOGENICITY: Fenoxycarb technical is not teratogenic in rats or rabbits.
REPRODUCTIVE TOXIN: Fenoxycarb technical was found not to affect reproduction in rats.
MUTAGENICITY: Fenoxycarb technical was found not to be mutagenic in any in vivo/in vitro test systems.
Carcinogenicity: From MSDS
CARCINOGENICITY COMMENTS:
Fenoxycarb: Based on the results of the fenoxycarb toxicology studies, the EPA carcinogenicity peer review committee and the Ciba-Geigy Corporation's cancer risk calculations, it does not appear that using this product according to label directions poses a significant health risk. Results of animal toxicology lifetime feeding studies indicated that fenoxycarb was carcinogenic at high dose levels to male mice with regard to an increase in lung and Hardarian gland tumors. No significant increase in carcinogenic effects were observed in either female mice or the rat lifetime feeding study.
First Aid: From MSDS
EYES: Flush eyes immediately with fresh water for at least 15 minutes while holding the eyelids open. Remove contact lenses if worn. No additional first aid should be necessary. However, if irritation persists, see a doctor.
SKIN: If on skin, remove contaminated clothing, wash skin with plenty of soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
INGESTION: If swallowed, immediately telephone a poison control center, emergency treatment center or a physician for advice. DO NOT make person vomit unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If medical advice cannot be obtained, then immediately take person and product container, with label, to an emergency treatment center.
INHALATION: If respiratory discomfort or irritation occurs, move the person to fresh air. See a doctor if discomfort or irritation continues.

Handling: From MSDS
GENERAL PROCEDURES: READ AND OBSERVE ALL PRECAUTIONS ON PRODUCT LABEL. IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO USE THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER INCONSISTENT WITH ITS LABELING. READ ENTIRE LABEL. USE STRICTLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH LABEL PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS AND DIRECTIONS.

Keep pesticide in original container. Do not contaminate food or feed. Do not store near food or feed. Store in a secure, preferably locked, cool dry storage area away from heat, open flame, and direct sunlight.

ECOTOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: This material is toxic to aquatic organisms and should be kept out of sewage and drainage systems and all bodies of water.

Do not apply directly to water or wetlands. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of waste. For help with any spill, leak, fire or exposure involving this material, call day or night (800) 454-2333.

If necessary to dispose of partially filled product container, then securely wrap it in several layers of newspaper and discard in trash.
