Signs and symptoms which may be seen, usually within 1-2 hours following overexposure, may include, but may not be limited to, headache, constriction of the pupil of the eye, blurred vision, excessive salivation or nasal discharge, profuse sweating, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Convulsions are rarely seen in carbamate poisoning.

EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eyes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
SKIN: If on skin or clothing, take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15 to 20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
INGESTION: If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to by a poison control center or doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
INHALATION: Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably by mouth-to-mouth, if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advice.

NOTES TO PHYSICIAN: In severe poisoning, measurement of blood cholinesterase activity may be used in monitoring exposure, but may not be reliable detectors of carbamate poisoning because enzyme activities may revert to normal within minutes or hours of exposure. If signs and/or symptoms of cholinesterase inhibition appear, atropine sulfate is antidotal.
