Minimal Screening Set 2 (MSS-2)

Included in the paper, A 1 Mb Resolution Radiation Hybrid Map of the Canine Genome, we have identified a set of 325 highly-informative markers for researchers to use for genome scans in tracking traits of interest. This is an improved minimal screening set over the MSS-1 we put forth in Richman et. al. 2001 (see references page) with the following characteristics:

Note: The positions and distances in this table were calculated with the TSP/CONCORDE program. The program calculates the intermarker distances in arbitrary TSP units, and in the table the TSP units are translated to Mb based on the known physical size of each chromosome, as determined by cytofluorimetry. For more detail, refer to Guyon et. al. 2003, PNAS.
