Interacting with STB

Informal Collaborations - Investigators interested in scientific collaborations should contact the STB scientific staff directly.

Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) - Research aimed at commercialization of Government inventions or collaborative research with potential commercial applications may be pursued through CRADAs

List of current or pending STB CRADAs:

  • Novel Small Molecule Inhibitors of the Hypoxic Signaling Pathway from MerLion's Natural Products Collections. Collaborator is MerLion Pharmaceuticals, Singapore.
  • 2-Methoxyestradiol and Analogs as Inhibitors of Hypoxia Inducible Factor-1. Collaborator is Entremed.
  • Evaluation of Topoisomerase I Inhibitors as Antitumor Inhibitors of Hypoxia Inducible Factor 1 (HIF-1). Collaborator is Sigma Tau Pharmaceuticals, Italy; this M-CRADA has recently expired however.

R*A*N*D - a program designed to facilitate discovery of novel, scientifically meritorious anticancer therapeutics in the academic community. It will do this by making available to the academic research community, on a competitive basis, NCI resources for the discovery and early pre-clinical development of drugs and biologics. It is intended to remove some of the most common barriers between basic research discoveries and their exploitation for discovery of new molecular entities. The goal of R*A*N*D is to supply critical support for this effort.

The Drug Discovery and Development Seminar Series - Since 1999, the Branch has hosted numerous experts from academia and private industry in the field of drug discovery and development where they present their work to an open audience at NCI-Frederick. Often, these meetings turn into formal and informal collaborations between the NCI and the speaker's affiliation. For more information on the seminar series, contact Ms. Pam Young.
