Key Functions
- Serves as the principal office within NIAID's Office of the Director for developing policies on adopting technology.
- Provides guidance on technology matters related to research contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and training.
- Assesses emerging technologies of potential importance to NIAID and implements technology-related programs and initiatives to advance the Institute’s mission.
- Represents the Institute on trans-NIH extramural, technology-focused policy activities.
- Advises and assists division staff on all technology matters.
- Provides infrastructure, services, surge capacity, and special capabilities to assist program staff and leadership in managing scientific merit review.
- Acquires and manages special resources for analysis, evaluation, forecasting, planning, coordination, and service provision.
