Performing a Historical Search

A basic FSR query includes all awarded, terminated, or amended grants, SNAP grants that are within 90 days to the end of the project period and Non SNAP grants that are within 90 days to the end of the budget period. However, it does not include fellowships, sub-projects and supplements.

When the grant is a Current Parent Grant that has not been purged (marked as a shell) a historical search should be performed.

Grants are purged once a year, usually within an April timeframe, when the following simplified criteria are met.

• Those awarded records that were funded 3 fiscal years prior to the fiscal year of the purge.
• The budget end date was no greater than September 30th of the fiscal year of the record being purged. For Fellowship and Training records the budget end date was 1 year less.
• The grant had no requirement for Report of Expenditures or had been marked to indicate that Report of Expenditures had been received. For Example:

To access the Historical Search Criteria Screen:

• Select the Historical Search link.

The FSR Historical Search Criteria Screen contains parameter files for a search by grant number only.

• Enter the FSR Historical Search criteria.
• Click the button.
• The Hit List displays the list of records that matches the entered criteria.

• From the Hit List
• Click the grant number link to access the FSR Details Screen (FSR8004).

• Select the Paper Entry link to access the FSR Edit Screen (FSR8005).
