The Vatican Observatory, headquartered in Castel Gandolfo, Italy, is one of the oldest astronomical research institutions in the world. The Vatican Observatory Research Group (VORG), the dependent research center of the observatory, is hosted by Steward Observatory at the University of Arizona in Tucson. The observatory operates the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT).
