Deactivating Hierarchy Components

When a hierarchy component is deactivated, it is no longer visible as part of the organizational hierarchy. Once deactivated, a component cannot be 'reactivated,' it must be added as if it is a new component.

Note: You cannot deactivate any school, division, or department within an organization if there is active awarded or pending application associated with it. You must first move the active awarded and pending applications to another hierarchy within the same organization before you can perform the deactivation function.

  1. Select Institution Profile | Maintain Org Hierarchy to open the Maintain Organization Hierarchy page (IPF2014).
  2. To deactivate the selected school information, click Deactivate next to the school name. The next active school in the organization is selected as the listed school. If there is no other listed school for the organization, the School field becomes blank and a new school must be selected.
  3. To deactivate the selected division information, click Deactivate next to the division name. The next active division in the organization is selected as the listed division. If there is no other listed division for the organization, the Division field becomes blank and a new division must be selected.
  4. To deactivate the selected department information, click the Deactivate hyperlink next to the desired department name.
