I. Screening variables

Home blood stool test

Respondents who did not report if they ever had an exam or when their last exam occurred were excluded from the analysis.

Sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy

Respondents who did not report if they ever had an exam or when their last exam occurred were excluded from the analysis.

Mammogram

Female respondents who did not report if they ever had an exam or when their last exam occurred were excluded from the analysis.

Clinical breast exam

Female respondents who did not report if they ever had an exam or when their last exam occurred were excluded from the analysis.

Ever had Pap test

Female respondents who did not report if they ever had an exam were excluded from the analysis. In addition, female respondents who were pregnant or had a hysterectomy were excluded from the analysis.

Pap test within past 3 years

Female respondents who did not report if they ever had an exam or when their last exam occurred were excluded from the analysis. In addition, female respondents who were pregnant or had a hysterectomy were excluded from the analysis.

II. Prevention variables

Fruits and vegetables

Respondents who did not report their fruit and vegetable consumption per day were excluded from the analysis.

Overweight or obese

Respondents who did not report their weight or height were excluded from the analysis.

No leisure-time physical activity

Respondents who did not report their leisure-time physical activity were excluded from the analysis.

Current smokers

Respondents who did not report if they ever smoked or their current smoking status were excluded from the analysis.
