#953Full-Text Searching, Batch Querying, Analysis & Team Sharing Using QUOSA
 
Description:
This advanced session will show students that are already familiar with the QUOSA Information Manager (please see the "Introductory hands-on training..." course if you are not) how to use QUOSA to retrieve large article sets and to do full-text searching and analysis across them in order to answer special or complex questions.
(QUOSA Information Manager - Professional or Platinum version subscriptions may be required for certain functions).
 
Objectives:
Learn how to harness the power of full-text searching, batch query, alerting and analysis
  • Search PubMed and retrieve & index the full-text of all selected articles automatically, using e-journals available at NIH
  • Search the full-text across all retrieved articles, using Boolean, proximity, and regular expression search
  • Scan through the most relevant sections within article sub-sets with term sensitive highlighting
  • Use integrated concept extraction and clustering capabilities; import your own terms and use to cluster retrieved articles; perform Genes+Aliases Search
  • Automate complex searching, including multi-step full-text searching with the Batch Query functionality
  • Automate complex searching, including multi-step full-text searching with the Batch Query functionality
  • Retrieve and export full-articles for further processing by your favorite Pathways Analysis, Natural Language Processing or Statistical Text Mining tools
Who should attend:
NIH staff with an interest in the topic, especially QUOSA users who doe heavy-duty searching and deal with large sets of articles
