#930Writing MIPAV Plugins

Description:
MIPAV is a platform-independent image processing and visualization program that assists researchers with the 3D segmentation, registration, and the visualization of biomedical imaging modalities. MIPAV provides an open API to allow the development and execution of Java plug-ins. This course teaches how to write plug-ins for MIPAV for users who have specific image processing requirements and the necessary programming skills. Users can write and compile plug-in programs to perform specific tasks and install them into the MIPAV application. The plug-in can be then easily accessed from the Plug-ins menu of MIPAV's main control frame.

Objectives:
Topics to be covered:
  • Writing pure Java-based plug-ins using MIPAV's open API
  • Installing and removing plug-ins
  • Writing plug-ins to call external C/C++ libraries
Who should attend:
NIH staff that want to learn more about creating and using MIPAV plug-ins to process and analyze their biomedical imaging data

Instructor(s):
Dr. Matthew McAuliffe, Division of Computational Bioscience, CIT

Time Required:
