#714PKI LRA Training and Certification
 
Description:
The role of the Local Registration Authority (LRA) is to support the issuance of HHS Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) digital certificates. The HHS PKI that supplies NIH with digital certificates has transitioned to a new certificate provider. The policies and procedures for issuing digital certificates have also changed. LRAs are REQUIRED to take this training before they can approve the issuance of new HHS digital certificates to NIH staff.

Objectives:
  • Describe the HHS PKI Transition.
  • Describe how the LRA uses the WebRAO portal to request and issue digital certificates.
  • Provide the LRA with a new set of digital certificates needed to perform their duties under the new HHS PKI


  • Who should attend:
  • NIH staff approved by their CIO/ISSO to act as an LRA
  • Note: Contractors will need to attend this class with their Federal manager/ISSO in order to be issued certificates under these new policies.
