Brief Description:
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), issued as a program announcement with set aside funds (PAS), is
to promote the development and use of non-human lentiviruses in animal models for research into the mechanisms underlying
the neurological complications that are found associated with HIV-1 infection in humans. The ultimate goal of this initiative
will be to refine lentiviral model systems for use in the discovery and development of therapeutics for the treatment of AIDS
patients with and without a history of drug use.
