Finding the GMR

Have you ever tried to find a particular page, person or phone number on an NN/LM website and not know where to look? As much as the we try to make our pages easy to navigate, sometimes the information might not be readily found. Here is a tool that is right under our noses. The GMR website as well as the the other National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM) websites use GoogleTM Custom Search to help users find the information they want.

The GMR’s Google Custom Search box, reproduced above, is located at the top right on any NN/LM and GMR page with the NN/LM header, including the GMR blog. As Google users know, doing a search on Google is easy. Simply type the words or phrase that best describes the information you want to find into the search box and hit the “Enter” key or click on the Google Search button.

The information retrieved is respective to the site the search box is on. For example, when searching with the custom search on any nnlm.gov/gmr page, information retrieved is specific to the GMR site; using the Custom Search box on any nnlm.gov site (without a specific region appended), information is returned from any NN/LM site, including the GMR’s.

Take a look, try it out and find something new on the GMR website. As always, if you can’t find what you are looking for or don’t know where to look, please contact the GMR through our Feedback form which is available at the top of each of our web pages: http://nnlm.gov/gmr/about/feedback/index.html. Then again you could use the Google search box on the GMR site to find contact information for a specific GMR staff member or program area. We hope you find what you need.
