This announcement is intended to support new and ongoing health-related research projects proposed by qualified scientists who need support for small-scale research projects. This award supports small-scale, new or ongoing health-related research projects, including pilot research projects and feasibility studies; development, testing, and refinement of research techniques; secondary analysis of available data sets; and similar discrete research projects that demonstrate research capability. This initiative includes cancer prevention and control research, development, technology transfer, demonstration, and education and information dissemination programs to expedite the use of new information relevant to prevention, detection, and diagnosis of cancer and pretreatment evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and continuing care of cancer patients.
