WELCOME

Center Directors, investigators and invited guests are welcome to attend the 10th Annual Meeting of the Morris K. Udall Centers of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease Research.

The Udall Centers program was established in 1997 immediately following the passage of the Morris K. Udall Parkinson’s Disease Research Act into law. There are currently 13 Udall Centers of Excellence across the United States, as well as the associated Parkinson’s Disease Data Organizing Center (PD-DOC) at the University of Rochester. These Centers represent a key component of the NINDS research portfolio in Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.

Since 2007, the site of the annual Centers Director meetings has alternated among existing Udall Centers. This year’s meeting will be hosted by Dr. Jim Surmeier, Director of the Udall Center at Northwestern University.  The meeting is designed to provide an optimal environment in which participants can discuss emergent issues in the research and treatment of Parkinson’s disease. The Agenda will include updates on recent research progress in the Centers and a focused scientific session related to timely issues in Parkinson’s disease research and treatment, as well breakout sessions and poster presentations designed to maximize interactions among participants. By providing a focused and interactive Agenda, the annual Meeting fosters the initiation and maintenance of collaborative efforts among the Centers.

Meeting logistics are being organized by the University of Rochester.  For meeting registration, hotel reservations or any other questions concerning logistics please contact either Ms. Donna LaDonna at (585) 275-7937, donna_ladonna@urmc.rochester.edu or Ms. Sandy Plumb at (585) 275-1034, sandy.plumb@ctcc.rochester.edu.
