On September 1, 2005, the National Institute of Mental Health issued a Program Announcement entitled, PAR-05-161 “Advanced Centers for Innovation in Services and Intervention Research (ACISIR)”. This Notice is to inform the scientific community that the NIMH is increasing the direct costs allowed under this PA. Section II.2, Funds Available, is changed to the following:

“Under this PA, applicants can request up to $1,500,000 per year for direct costs, plus negotiated Facilities and Administrative Costs (formerly known as indirect costs).

Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary. Although the financial plans of the NIMH provide support for this program, awards pursuant to this funding opportunity are contingent upon the availability of funds.

Facilities and administrative costs requests by consortium participants are not included in the direct costs limitation, see NOT-OD-05-004.”
