Extramural Associates (EA) Program Residency Training Program

Location: NIH Main Campus, Bethesda, Maryland
Purpose: This three-week residency training program provides an opportunity for grantees to come to NIH to get hands-on experience and knowledge regarding the NIH perspective on funding biomedical and behavioral research; grants management; and fundamentals of establishing an office of research development. Coursework is taught by staff across NIH regarding institute policy and procedures and pre/post award grant processes. This training curriculum is designed to enhance an institution’s ability to compete successfully in biomedical and behavioral research initiatives. Grantees participating in the training program represent recipients of both the Domestic and International Extramural Associates Research Development Awards, as well as participants in the NICHD Indo-U.S. Joint Working Group.
