• Men, on average, have 12 subordinates, compared to 9 for women.
• Asians and Native Hawaiians/other Pacific Islanders, have the fewest subordinates, 6 and 5, respectively, compared with 10 for blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians/Alaska Natives, and 12 for whites.
• Scientists and engineers with disabilities have, on average, 13 subordinates, compared with 10 for those without disabilities.
• Age differences are likely to account for some of these differences.
