Comments See Lead" and "Chromium and compounds." Because of its "extreme insolubility," the relative toxicity of this compound has been debated. Epidemiology studies in lead chromate workers have shown evidence of excess lung cancer. It can be corrosive to living tissue. Lead poisoning can occur in exposed workers. [ACGIH]
Restricted In 1977 the Consumer Product Safety Commission banned "lead containing paint" prohibiting the use of such paint on products to which consumers are exposed after sale. [ATSDR ToxFAQs, Toxicological Profile, Regulations and Advisories]
