NCRR's Division of Biomedical Technology supports research to develop innovative technologies and helps make them accessible to the biomedical research community.

NCRR's Division for Clinical Research Resources provides funding to biomedical research institutions to establish and maintain specialized clinical research facilities and clinical-grade biomaterials that enable clinical and patient-oriented research.

NCRR's Division of Comparative Medicine helps meet the needs of biomedical researchers for high-quality, disease-free animals and specialized animal research facilities.

NCRR's Science Education Partnership Awards are designed to improve life science literacy throughout the nation.

NCRR's Division of Research Infrastructure supports programs to enhance the competitiveness of investigators in underserved states and institutions and also provides funding to build, expand, remodel, or renovate research facilities throughout the nation.

Individual Training Grants

Career Development Opportunities funded by NCRR are available to individual post graduates with M.D., D.D.S./D.M.D., D.V.M., other related medical degrees, and Ph.D. degrees; as well as predoctoral students. NCRR's Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) supports translational research through several DCM programs that relate to the use of animal models in biomedical research. As part of this effort, DCM funds the various types of grants described below for the career development of individuals with D.V.M. and Ph.D. degrees, and veterinary students. These grants and funding mechanisms are collectively described on the Specific Funding Opportunities for Individuals page.

Individuals with D.V.M. Degrees

Depending on the level of experience at the time of application, and the desired outcome, veterinarians may be interested in F32, K01, K99/R00, and sometimes K26 grants. (Alternatively, researchers may be interested in applying to an existing Postdoctoral T32 Training Program at an institution listed in the Comparative Medicine Research Resources Directory.)

Individuals with Ph.D. Degrees

Depending on the level of experience at the time of application, and the desired outcome, investigators with Ph.D. degrees may be interested in F32, K99/R00, and sometimes K26 grants.

Predoctoral Veterinary Students

Minority veterinary students may be interested in F31 grants to individuals. (Alternatively, researchers may be interested in applying to an existing Summer T35 Training Program for Veterinary Students or a Predoctoral T32 Training Program at an institution listed in the Comparative Medicine Research Resources Directory.)
