Notice of Public Hearing
The Columbia City Council will soon be considering changes to its sign ordinance, particularly related to temporary signs. Before this consideration, City Councilmembers E.W. Cromartie II and Daniel J. Rickenmann would like to hear any comments, questions, or concerns.
Citizens are invited to a Public Meeting to discuss temporary sign regulations on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 10am. This meeting is open to the public.

There’s a lot that is still unknown about the swine flu virus, but SCDHEC staff has been in constant contact with the CDC and healthcare providers around the state. They are closely monitoring doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers to identify and track any cases that might arise.
Notice of Public Hearing: ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO.: 2009-046
Public notice is hereby given that the Columbia City Council will consider adoption of and hold a public hearing on a proposed ordinance eliminating Front end loader bulk containers service. The hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 27th at 9am, at City Hall (1737 Main Street) in Council Chambers (3rd floor).
North Columbia Hosts Ribs & Renaissance- May 30th!
Ribs & Renaissance (R&R to folks way up here in North Columbia) takes Columbia's arts scene to the streets with a day-long backyard barbecue and arts extravaganza. Want to throw a pot? Make a hat? Have your picture drawn in charcoal or watch sidewalk artists compete in chalk? Join your Midlands-area neighbors and friends at the North Columbia Town Plaza (Monticello Road at North Main Street) and let the day take you away!
Stimulus 101 Summit is a Success
The Stimulus 101 Summit took place at the Columbia Convention Center on April 17, 2009, to share information about funding available through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. More than 500 local government business and community leaders in communities of all sizes around the state got a better understanding of the type of funding available and the process for accessing the funds.
