Dr. Carroll joined TTB in 1997. During her tenure in the branch, she has been responsible for handling technology transfer issues for many NCI laboratories and branches. She is currently the Acting Deputy Branch Chief and Coordinator for the Unit that provides technology transfer support for DCP, DCTD, DCEG, DCCPS and several laboratories and branches of CCR.
Dr. Carroll received her B.A. in biological sciences from Cornell University. She holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry and an M.B.A from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Carroll has conducted research in a variety of biological systems including the Escherichia coli bacteriophage lambda and the L-A and M viruses of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Her focus on intellectual property began when she was a biotechnology patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. At TTB, Dr. Carroll has been involved in a variety of projects including those directed toward clinical research.
