November is COPD Awareness Month
Did you know that COPD is the #4 cause of death in the
U.S.? Most of those at greatest
risk for COPD have never even heard of it. COPD affects 24
million Americans: 12 million already diagnosed and 12 million more
who may have it but don't know it.
That's why COPD Awareness Month in November
is a great opportunity to spread the word about this little known
disease.
In addition, NHLBI has designated 4
days–November 13, 14, 15, and 16 – as Learn
About COPD Days, when partner organizations sponsor
education, outreach, and screening activities. You or your or
organization can join the effort and plan
your own event for any time in November with ideas from the COPD
Awareness Month Web pages.
Get
involved today! The following additional NHLBI Learn More
Breathe Better resources make it easy to share COPD information
