Marshalyn Yeargin-Allsopp, MD (Chair)Dr. Yeargin-Allsopp is a Medical Epidemiologist and Chief of the Developmental Disabilities Branch at the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She received a medical degree from Emory University and completed a pediatric internship and residency at Montefiore Hospital, Bronx, New York. She completed a fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Rose F. Kennedy Center. She is board-certified in Pediatrics and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Since joining CDC in 1981, she has designed and implemented the first U.S. population-based study of developmental disabilities (DD) in school-age children in an urban area, which has served as the basis for an ongoing CDC developmental disabilities surveillance system and as a model for DD surveillance activities in several states. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine and is the Medical Director of the Clayton Early Intervention Program in metropolitan Atlanta.
