Wendy Patterson, J.D.,

Wendy Ehrenkranz Patterson is a Senior Advisor for Extramural Technology Transfer in the NCI Technology Transfer Branch. She advises various extramural scientific program directors and their staffs regarding data sharing and intellectual property matters arising from grants, contracts and cooperative agreements. She also provides informal guidance to NCI grantees and contractors and their institutional offices concerning the management of their intellectual property rights in accordance with NCI mission-related goals and applicable NIH policies. Within the Cancer Biomedical Informatics? (caBIG?) program, she serves as the NCI facilitator for the Data Sharing and Intellectual Capital (DSIC) Workspace. Ms. Patterson joined the NCI TTB in 2000. From 1988 to 1998, Ms. Patterson served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of General Counsel of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission where she was involved in appellate litigation, preparation of final adjudicatory decisions of the Commission and regulatory reviews. Earlier, she was an attorney in private practice at a law firm in Washington, D.C. where she focused on corporate and securities law. Ms. Patterson received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1983 and her A.B. in Psychology and Social Relations from Harvard University in 1976.
