General Layout of a Movement Analysis Facility

Shown below is a common layout of a Movement Analysis Facility.

A rather large room, conducive for walking and running is typically required. At least six motion capture cameras are positioned on tripods or fixed-mounts around the sides of the collection area and pointed inward. These connect to a data collection computer also located within the lab. Force platforms are commonly present, installed within the raised floor and also connected to the computer. A solid ceiling frame is mounted above the subject and center collection area, and calibration devices are located within easy access.
