Cancers - Understanding NCI: Toll-Free Teleconference on Research at NCI-Frederick
When: November 8, 2007 Where: Nationwide Institute: National Cancer Institute (NCI)NCI’s Office of Advocacy Relations (OAR) continues its Understanding NCI teleconference series with the topic “From Bench to Bedside: Research at NCI-Frederick, Maryland.”
NCI-Frederick is part of the Institute’s in-house research enterprise. Scientists at NCI-Frederick focus on research aimed at identifying the causes of cancer, AIDS, and related diseases.
The featured speaker is Craig W. Reynolds, associate director of NCI-Frederick and director of the Office of Scientific Operations, who will discuss how researchers at NCI-Frederick are working to speed the translation of laboratory research into new, more effective treatments for cancer and other diseases. Community Outreach - “Changing the Face of Medicine,” Exhibit on Women Physicians, Tours Nation
When: November 1, 2007 Where: Nationwide Institute: National Library of Medicine (NLM)“Changing the Face of Medicine,” a traveling exhibit highlighting the contributions of women physicians, will run through November of 2010. More than 60 public, university, and medical libraries will play host to the exhibit.
