About Colon CFR: Colon Biospecimens
The Colon CFR (C-CFR) biospecimen repository is comprised of samples derived
from blood, archival tissues, and fresh tissues that are stored at all six collaborative
sites. The C-CFR established a minimum standard for the collection, processing,
storage and dispatch of these specimens in 1998 when recruitment first began.
Over time this standard has been refined to accommodate different funding levels,
changes to recruitment focus, sample demands on the biorepository, technology
improvements, and to capitalize on site-specific strengths.
