Find Facts About Staphylococcal Infections

Format: Fact Sheet
Institute: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)

Staph infections, caused by the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, often manifest as skin infections and occur most frequently among persons in hospitals and health care facilities. These infections are particularly problematic because some strains of Staphyloccus are resistant to certain antibiotics. And people who are otherwise healthy can also contract these infections.

You can learn more about Staphylococcal Infections from a list of online resources recently updated by NIAID.
