National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day—February 7, 2006

February 7th is just around the corner, and it’s not too soon to start thinking about  National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD). NBHAAD— a nationwide community mobilization initiative—aims to increase awareness, participation, and support for HIV prevention among African-Americans. National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, February 7—mark your 2006 calendar today!

 

 

New Publication: Confronting HIV/AIDS in African-American Communities

The National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) recently published A Turning Point: Confronting HIV/AIDS in African-American Communities. This brochure discusses the impact of HIV/AIDS on black communities and calls upon Federal agencies, state and local health departments, black leaders, and policy makers to increase their response to the epidemic.
