World No Tobacco Day, 31 May 2009

This year’s theme for World Tobacco Day, which takes place annually on 31 May, is "Tobacco Health Warnings". The UICC is calling on its members to mobilize for this day and help increase tobacco control around the world. The WHO has already made a variety of resources available online for download to help promote the initiative, including: posters, banners, brochures, flyers, press materials and print ads.

Science, Synergy, and Success - 100th Annual meeting of AACR
09am_spotlight325x180.jpgThe American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) 100th Annual Meeting 2009, recently took place in Denver, United States with the theme of "Science, Synergy, and Success." AACR President Raymond N. DuBois, M.D., Ph.D., hosted the Opening Ceremony which began with a multimedia experience on "100 Years of Science, Synergy, and Success," a video premier of the advancements in cancer research, and the historical developments of the AACR and its role as the nucleus of scientific exchange in the cancer arena.
