A Postdoctoral Fellowships is available in the Division of Intramural Research, NIDDK, NIH. Members of the Metabolic Diseases Branch of NIDDK helped discover two genes causing hereditary endocrine cancers (MEN1 and HRPT2). Main efforts are directed at the function of menin, the encoded protein from the multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) tumor suppressor gene. Beginning with protein-protein interaction methods and later using DNA-interaction methods, several menin partners have been identified. This lab also collaborates extensively with other labs on the NIH campus to study endocrine tumors. This position involves creativity and laboratory expertise with cutting-edge methods. Application is invited from individuals of the highest caliber who have obtained a Ph.D. or M.D. degree within the last 5 years. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with the experience of the applicant.
