Should You Become an AIDS Vaccine Trial Volunteer?

Becoming an AIDS vaccine trial volunteer is a highly personal decision that requires careful thought and consideration on the part of any participant. To gain a better understanding of what it means to participate in an AIDS vaccine trial, visit the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). HVTN is devoted to the development and testing of preventive HIV vaccines worldwide. They conduct all phases of clinical trials, from evaluating experimental vaccines for safety and the ability to stimulate immune responses, to testing vaccine efficacy. View an educational HVTN video on the importance of HIV preventive vaccines. Volunteers cannot get HIV infection or AIDS by receiving an experimental vaccine.
