Environmental Health Perspectives Volume 112, Number 7, May 2004
Environmental Health Perspectives Toxicogenomics May 2004 Liquid gold--metabolite profiles gleaned from biofluids including blood, urine, and saliva, as well as from body tissues, can yield a wealth of information about an individual’s health status. An emerging discipline called metabolomics uses tools for analyzing metabolites, thereby linking exposure, phenotype, and genotype at the end of the “omics” cascade (see Focus, p.A410).
