Secretary's Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health and Society (SACGHS)
Description
The Secretary's Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health and Society (SACGHS) consists of
17 members, including a Chair, appointed by the Secretary of Health (or designee) from
professionals in biomedical science, human genetics, health care delivery, evidence-based
practice, public health, behavioral science, social science, heath services research,
health policy, health disparities, ethics, economics, law, health care financing, consumer
issues and other related fields.
SACGHS will explore, analyze and deliberate on the broad range of policy needs
associated with the scientific, clinical, public health, ethical, economic, legal and
social issues raised by the development and use of genetic information and genomic
technology.
