Position Description: | A postdoctoral position is available in the HIV/AIDS Malignancy Branch in the group of Dr. Joseph Ziegelbauer studying the roles of viral microRNAs. Our group studies the functions of viral microRNAs in a tumorgenic virus in order to identify pathways instrumental to viral pathogenesis and potentially lead to discovery of novel anti-viral and anti-tumor targets. This work utilizes one of the largest databases of microRNA target profiling and sequence analysis. Research will include validating predicted targets and understanding their role in viral pathogenesis. The position is near Washington, DC at the main NIH Campus in Bethesda, Maryland which provides stable funding and a rich environment for collaboration with experts in biomedical research and therapeutics. |
Experience Required: | Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or MD with excellent communication skills and cell culture experience. Those with experience with RNAi and utilizing microarray data are desirable. |
