Position Description: A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a highly motivated individual to study the molecular biology of lung carcinogenesis. This effort involves characterizing the lineage of neuroendocrine cells and stem cells in the lung using novel mouse models and human cell lines. Presently, the laboratory is one of the leading groups focusing on pulmonary neuroendocrine differentiation (Lab Invest 2006: 86: 425-444; Nature 1997: 368: 852-855). It is anticipated that this project will yield new insights into the origin and management of human small cell lung cancer, the most common and virulent of all neuroendocrine carcinomas.
Experience Required: Applicants should have strong background in molecular and developmental biology. Expertise with murine models and experience in management of a mouse colony are strongly preferred. Interested candidates should have a Ph.D and/or an M.D. or equivalent degrees, publications in international journals and have less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
