Position Description: The laboratory of Scott Durum studies lymphocyte survival and death mechanisms. The focus is on the cytokine IL-7 which is essential for T cell development and survival. Current projects include characterizing a knock-in mouse showing cells expressing IL-7, the mechanisms of post-translational regulation of survival and death proteins by IL-7 and the role of IL-7 in inflammation-induced colon cancer. The fellowship is funded by the intramural program of the NIH and can support the follow 2-5yrs with competitive salary and health benefits. The lab is located on the Frederick MD campus of the National Cancer Institute NIH and offers numerous core facilities, training and other programs to benefit fellows.
