A lecture, Herbal Medicine: Ancient Practice Meets Modern Science, will cover research issues about botanicals. The presenter is Norman Farnsworth, Ph.D., Director of the Program for Collaborative Research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He will provide ancient and recent history on the state of research in botanicals, and discuss the development of standardized botanical dietary supplements for research. The lecture is part of the NCCAM's Distinguished Lectures in the Science of Complementary and Alternative Medicine series.
