Scientific Programs

Xiuwen Liu

Dr. Xiuwen Liu joined our laboratory in the summer of 1994 to explore the Jak/Stat signaling pathway in the mammary gland. Xiuwen was the first to clone from the mouse the cDNAs and genes encoding Stat5a and Stat5b. He was also the first to delete the Stat5a from the mouse genome and demonstrate its essential role in the development and differentiation of mammary epithelium.

Dr. Liu left our laboratory to join Bristol Myers as a staff scientist. He is currently the Director for research of Biotherapies.
