Cancer Patients May Review Complementary Alternative Medicine Brochure Institute: National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), National Cancer Institute (NCI)
NCI and NCCAM are looking for people who are interested in reading and commenting on a new brochure about complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). The institutes want to learn what patients or prior patients, based on personal experience, believe is important to include in the brochure.
To qualify, participants must be currently receiving standard cancer treatment (such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery), or have received standard cancer treatment within the last 12 months. Use of CAM is not required to participate. CAM can include acupuncture, biofeedback, chiropractic care, dietary supplements, energy healing, herbal medicine, homeopathic treatment, hypnosis, imagery, massage therapy, mind-body therapies (such as yoga or Tai Chi), relaxation therapy, or spiritual healing.Health professionals are not eligible to comment.
