Spotlight on HREB Staff

Dr. Sophia Wang's research interests include the application of genetic and molecular markers in etiologic studies of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and cervical cancer. She uses state-of-the-art genetic analyses to assess heritable and somatic changes that are relevant for cancer and evaluates their downstream effects through gene expression analyses. She is actively involved in the International Lymphoma Epidemiology Consortium (InterLymph) and is a co-chair of the InterLymph Genotype Working Group. She is also the principal investigator of the Study to Understand Cervical Cancer Early Endpoints and Determinants (SUCCEED), for which she was awarded the NIH Award of Merit in 2006. In 2007, Dr. Wang was the recipient of the DCEG Mentoring Award. In July 2008, Dr. Wang was successfully tenured at the NIH.
